Hydraulic pumps
Hydraulic pumps make it possible to generate pressure safely
Hydraulic systems operate under pressure. To generate this pressure, they rely on hydraulic pumps. These specialized pumps are available in various power classes to suit all system sizes and configurations. Both hydraulic motors and cylinders can only be moved smoothly with the right pressure. Presently, two main types of hydraulic pumps are distinguished: hand pumps and gear pumps. The choice between them depends on the application.
Hand pumps are primarily suitable for small tipping trailers
Hand pumps are becoming less common in large hydraulic systems due to their labor-intensive operation. However, they remain a good and cost-effective option for small tipping trailers. These hydraulic pumps offer options for single-acting or double-acting models.
Generally, they are mounted directly on the trailer frame, alongside the hydraulic tank. These pumps operate at different pressures, ranging from 50 bar for some models to as high as 380 bar for others.
How gear pumps work
Gear pumps are widely used in many applications today. They consist of a housing, two gears, and inlet and outlet ports. For reliable operation, one gear is typically connected to the drive shaft. The drive can vary, either through an electric motor, power take-off shaft, or similar means. During operation, the second gear rotates along with the first, effectively moving hydraulic oil between the housing and gears. In addition to offering suitable hydraulic pumps for your application, we also provide a selection of accessories for safe installation.
